Unit 1 – Present perfect to talk about experiences. Games: Have you ever? (after watching present perfect video and asking some questions, ‘Holly, have you ever been to Spain?’ and discussing use of PP, students think of one question to ask other students in groups. They record the answers. 2 Truths and a Lie. Prepare students to give a presentation about another student at the end of the unit for a grade (this is the Oral Exam). For example, Marco decides he will present about Francesca. He talks about her experiences: Francesca went to Paris when she was six years old. She has never been to South America. She ate sushi once and didn’t like it.

Unit 4 – Working with languages and interviews. Ask students what jobs there are working with languages (tourism, business communication, marketing, translation, subtitling, voiceover (media)). Talk about steps in subtitling and voiceover and possibilities with English into Italian.
Dictation: Banksy is the pseudonym of one of the most popular graffiti artists in the world. His identity is secret, but he was probably born in Bristol in 1974. He is a brilliant street artist, political activist and painter. Banksy’s murals appear all around the world, on public buildings and streets where people can admire his art and appreciate his dark sense of humour. His first graffiti appeared in the 1990’s. Today he sells his works for thousands of pounds and in 2010 he also directed a film.
